| Q: If I donate a toy in my local area does it stay in the local area? |
The simple answer to that question is yes and no. What we do as a coordinator for seven different counties is we collectively pick up toys from our counties, bring them to a central staging area and then based off the number of children we are supporting redistribute through the salvation army back to the community. For example I may receive one hundred toys from howard county and twenty toys from cass county. My requirement (for example only) may be fifty toys in cass and seventy toys in howard for distribution. So what i do is then pull fifty toys from howard to give to cass and twenty toys from what i have on hand from previous years to go back into howard. this keeps the toys that were donated in our community of seven counties but not neccessarily your county you donated in.
